Really Actually Awesome

Anyukám és családom,

This last week was really actually awesome just nothing interesting happened. I would say the only really interesting thing was the progression of one of our investigators. He is the boyfriend of one of the members here, and it has been hard for him to progress. He loves the girl, but religion has never been a big part of his life, and he just felt he was investigating just for the girl, and not for his own sake, so we have been working hard to help him find his own answer. Last week we decided to teach something that was not really the norm. We taught why God should be the most important thing in his life, and how to place him in first. It caught him by surprise, but we were able to explain it well, and with the Spirit.

Why should God be first? Well, although your girlfriend, wife, child, sport car, or whatever is really nice, and amazing, how did you get this stuff? We learn in Moroni 7:12 that all good things come from God. That means if you would like good things in your life, you need to be friends with the man that gives you all these things. When we put God first we will find our lives to be a thousand times better than if we would just do it ourselves. So from a missionary point of view, we can do this from the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so through faith, repentance, baptism, Gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end. This is how we explained it in a nutshell. To this point he felt baptism wouldn't happen for a long time. This last Sunday we met again, and we taught on faith.

We taught about faith through Peter's story of walking on water, and when Aaron talked to the king of the Lamanites. We talked of how faith is just trying, not necessarily succeeding or, knowing, but with time comes the confirmation through the trial of our faith. So we wrote up the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the boards again and we asked him, "Are you ready to move forward?" He said yes, and said the time where we can talk about baptism is a lot closer than we thought.

The great thing about all this is that Elder Flake and I never have really pushed him towards baptism. We have just been trying to help him to find God, and solutions to his life through the gospel, baptism is just coming naturally because of the spirit. As he learns and understands, the spirit has been testifying to him of the importance of baptism. Love it! (and by the way, this was all in Hungarian before)

We are just really happy God is helping us so much, to do things, that we can't do.

Just so you know tomorrow is a mini transfer (things are weird here because of all the changes world wide. Now we have mini and regular transfers). Unfortunately we got affected by it. Elder Flake is going to Szeged, and I am staying and getting my tenth companion named Elder Ralph. We will see how it goes. Just so you know, I am in my 11th transfer now.

sok szeretettel
