Anyukám és Családom,
This last week I had the opportunity to eat pickled
watermelon. It is definitely one of the more interesting flavors I have ever
tasted in my life. It was good, but then it wasn't... I don't know if you all
know this, but Hungarians pickle everything. I have had pickled onions,
peppers, tomatoes, now watermelon, and other modifications like cabbage. Quite
interesting.
I also had the opportunity to give two more blessings in
Hungarian this last week. It was to a sick girl and her mother. I am teaching
their father right now, so that he will get baptized. I might have talked about
him already, but basically missionaries have tried him for 5 years now, and he
still hasn't gotten baptized. I figured I should give it a shot as I can be a
very bold person sometimes. I haven't gotten myself in trouble because of that
sometimes.
I am helping a 12 year old boy to get the priesthood right
now. His family has been inactive for a long time, so I met with him and told
him he will need to be an example and come to church even if his parents don't.
He has come to church three times in a row now. I am really proud of him, and
he is learning a lot, and is really smart. I am happy I am able to help
him.
We also had splits last week in Szeged with the zone
leaders. Those kids are crazy. They have like 12 bap dates, and are doing work.
I had 8 programs in one day with them. Quite crazy. Even with all the work I
try doing, I have never had that many programs. A couple I met with was really
a pleasure. I love meeting with people that are truly trying to change, and
their hearts are being converted. It brings a smile on my face to see that this
is all true sometimes, and it works.
Last thing. this last Sunday my piano skills were asked of
again. I am now playing for the choir, and for the kids Christmas program. It
will be interesting.
Love you all
Decker elder
