Anyukám és családom,
Things are all just feeling the same now a days. I remember
at home thinking it was hard to write in a journal because I thought the same
thing happened every day. Kind of the same deal until I realize what I do is
pretty weird in general.
Guess what one of the most exciting things was for me this
last week. We made Snicker doodles! We went over to our little family for FHE
and brought them snicker doodles. They were really good.
I had a really cool program with last week. I was on
splits with Elder Carter. We needed
to teach the importance of baptism. We bought an oreo milka bar and called it
Eternal Life. I told our investigator I was all of her problems and hardships and she had to
beat me in an arm wrestle in order to get the Milka bar or eternal life. She
tried 6 times and never succeeded (of course). So I explained to her the reason
we get baptized is so we can get the gift of the holy ghost which allows us to
use Christ's atonement and we have Christ fight our battles for us. So we
pretended she got baptized and I had Elder Carter sit in her place, then I arm
wrestled Elder Carter. We struggled for a good 30 seconds because we were both
going at our hardest. As we arm wrestled, we explained Christ suffered for us and he has already beaten our sins, we just have to do as he
asked. Then Elder Carter beat me and she got the milka. So through Christ we
receive eternal life. I thought this was an amazing program. The spirit was
there and we all learned more about the importance of Christ.
This last Friday we also had zone training. This is only my
2nd one. We talked about "Where are the people". We explained this in
a literal and figurative sense. We asked that when people go finding if they
are really going to the people and when they are teaching where are the people
in your heart. I thought it went really well. We all had good remarks. I also
wore my new suit, and you know I looked good :)
Our other investigator is progressing really well. On Sunday we heard the
announcement that Stake conference will be on May 10, the day his baptism would
be. He learned over to me after the announcement and said we should switch his
baptism to May 3rd. I asked him if he was sure, he said,
"absolutely". He is a miracle child. He is accepting all the
commandments, he prays and reads every day. I am really impressed by him.
Missionary work should always be this easy.
I love you all a ton. Leaving is going to be a pain. I
finally figured out why it is harder to leave a mission than home. When you are
away from home you know you will always see your family again, I have no idea
if I will ever see the people here again. That is why it is harder to
leave.
