Count the miracles, bar and all

Családom meg anyukám,

I forgot to tell you one thing about Hungarian. There are several different ways to say the word "and". Weird right?

Well here is how the week went. Last Tuesday we once again had a day of finding, but it was such an answer to prayers. It is the most successful day of finding we have ever had. During tracting we had people saying come back at specific times, and we did come back and are now investigators. We also had people giving their numbers to us, and others saying that they would bring their friends as well. Last Tuesday put us on fire, which was good because Wednesday, Thursday and Friday was all finding, and we got nothing. A little worn out, during out Correlation meeting with the Ward mission leader on Saturday (Zoli, the guy that was on Trevor's mission) we asked him some advice with finding. Well, he challenged us to ask five people that day to have a lesson right there on the spot, on a bench or something. We did it to a lot more than five, and we didn't necessarily get lessons, but we got a lot of conversations in which one guy actually gave his number to us so we could talk later. We are meeting with him this week.

Phew, you would think it is done, but no. Last night was the craziest. Before I go on, just make sure you know that the entire time we were both feeling and following the spirit the entire night.

Yesterday was Sunday. So we went to church, we had our weekly planning, a little studying, and then dinner. In the end it ended up being 6 o'clock, and all we had left to do is find. I will be honest, I really did not want to go out. I was sore, tired, worn-out, I didn't want to get cold, etc. So I started praying. I prayed that Hunnicutt elder and I could find success, and that we needed it because we have been working really hard. Once again I have had the hardest working week again. I told him my heart, and I just asked him that we would be guided by the spirit and find the people God needed us to contact. At this moment of time I felt comfort and felt I needed to go, I also felt all the prayers you have all been praying on my behalf, and I knew I had to go. We first went to try contact a less active couple. No success there, so we decided to go "expleeting". Basically you just go exploring while streeting. So on our way we didn't get to far away from our place when something weird happened. I told Hunnicutt elder to stop this lady, and so as he did, we got the normal, "nem, nem, nem," thing (no, no, no). As this was happening, we both looked a little distraught, I assume because we both thought, "great, it is going to be one of those nights again". So as we were getting rejected, this slightly drunk person, as we'd soon find out, named _____ stopped and told us, "You are good people, you are really good people." We were just like excuse me? He was just like, "yea, you are going out just trying to help and teach people of Christ you are good people. How can I help you good people?" (Sorry this is a terrible translation, but I am trying. This was all Hungarian.) I just told him if he would just listen and learn, that would be a great help. So we gave him our info, and he gave us his address, and we will be meeting soon. Doesn't stop there though. Another guy came up, completely wasted, just drunk out of his mind. Tibor started telling this guy that he needed to listen to us and learn. Well, we tried, but he couldn't remember that he had already asked the same question four times, "Where are you all from?" Ok, so now in the story you would think it might end, but no.
At this point these guys were thinking we were pretty good friends, so they wanted to buy us a drink at this bar that was really close to where we were. We started telling them no, we don't drink alcohol, they were just like, "no big deal. We'll just buy you some cola." We stayed persistent on no until we got to the door of this bar. They both went in, and in there was one other customer and the bar tender. Our two new friends kept saying, "gyertek be, gyertek be, come in, come in." I walked in the door, and told them all one more time, "We do not drink alcohol, we need to go, we have a program elsewhere." At this time all four guys were wanting us to come in and talk. Standing in this door way, I turned to Elder Hunnicutt and told him, "I feel good." He looked at me, and said, "me to." So yea, I went into the first bar I have ever been in my life. Cool part, we went in, and our friends got us some coca-cola, and I went straight to the only really sober person, the bartender. He ended up being named ____, and he spoke English. Well we gave this guy a BOM, and we started teaching and answering questions to four guys in bar.  Now ____ wants to talk a little more about this, and he is referring us to his daughter about this and to help with English. Imagine this, two young teenagers preaching the gospel in a small pub at the side of a building, to four men slightly drunk, and they were listening. What a moment right? Doesn't end there.
We finally got ourselves out of there and back to streeting. We still had two hours of the night. Basically we just started wandering and streeting everyone we saw along the way. Eventually we got to the point where I looked around and told Elder Hunnicutt, "I am lost, I don't know where I am." We had lost ourselves. Well, kind of jokingly, I said, "Well, hopefully we are just following the spirit." Right at that moment we got to this big bridge and began to cross it when we saw a dude. I told Elder Hunnicutt, "That's our man." He was. We got to him, and I asked him, "What is the purpose of life?" From there we got in a big discussion about missionary work, about receiving answers, and the BOM. Several times the man said, "And all I wanted to do was just go on a little walk. I just felt I needed to." We will hopefully be hearing from him on Friday. Can you count how many miracles there were this night?

I testify the Holy Ghost is real!!! I testified and said crazy things that night. I promised people they could change and find God, and receive blessings. I know this night the spirit was strong with Elder Hunnicutt and I and we followed and we were able to at least plant some seeds that God needed planted.

Last cool thing. People can see the cleanness in us from the sacrament and how we live our lives as Mormons. In a pub, on of the most dirtiest places on earth we got quite a few interesting comments. From the bar tender he kept saying, "You guys really are pure in your hearts and in your minds. You are clean, you are good." The super drunk guy kept asking his friend "Ő Isten?" He was wondering if I was God. Of course not, but I truly believe we were a beam of light in that pub. We were filled with the spirit, and we were testifying with the tongue of angels. The spirit never once left us. We are truly part of Christ's church, and we will be like God if we just endure to the end. I am so happy, and joyful. . .  I love you all, and I thank you all for your prayers. God's work is moving! The signs are around us that Christ is coming. People keep asking us about that. About if we believe Christ is coming. I tell them yes, and I will be ready, will you?

I love my God and my Savior.

Have a wonderful week
