Anyukám és családom,
Last week topped the days of hardest weeks. It was the most finding I have ever done in week, the most investigators that has dropped us, se többi se többi. Luckily it has been quite a warm January so far. It also was one of my most favorite weeks. My testimony and my drive as a missionary increased ten fold. I found my love for the Hungarians become greater, my language skills jumped for some reason, I found new ways to find, and to cope with failure, and more. Basically I feel God is really preparing me for something amazingly crazy. Basically between transfers and the way work has been going, I have started my mission as one of the hardest possible, but it is so awesome! I am being extremely blessed. I know I can not do this myself, but with God, I have been doing the hard. Anyway this week should be pretty awesome in terms of getting more investigators. Meglátjuk.
As in terms of celebrating [the new year], we didn't have too much, we worked most of the time. On new year's eve it was fun though. There was a branch party that we were able to attend for a couple of hours. It was fun playing and eating with Hungarians. Also that night there was fireworks everywhere. Everyone was shooting them all night long. We didn't hear them once we got to bed, at 10:30 of course, but other than that it sounded like a war was going on. Weather here is just cold and humid; not too bad at all. The weird thing is the world gets dark just after 4. So it's dark for most of the day. Lowest it has gotten is only -6 celsius [about 21 F].
Just for your information we did get an act of kindness. As we were heading to some apartment buildings to do a contact, a bus driver randomly pulled over and gave a ride, not even at a bus stop. Weird right?
Basically the only success we had this week was we got that kid on bap date this last week, and he is progressing well. We had FHE with the entire family last night. It was a lot of fun. We gave the lesson, and then we played jenga, and before we could get out, the Mom fed us rice and chicken. It was good to see a family that has been drifting apart and away from the church, being brought together through the gospel and family activities. This gospel truly brings happiness.
Other thing would be the day we did 7 hours of straight tracting. During this entire time the only thing came out of it was we got to a door and the man had already met with the missionaries and didn't want anything about it, but he was really nice. Basically I asked if we could just come in for a few minutes to warm up. He let us in and we ended up having a discussion about family history, so we got his information and he is a for sure student for our soon to be family history class. About that class. It has been kind of frustrating getting that started. We keep going to the library we are going to do this at and the leader/boss there hasn't been there for a while because her child his sick. She is supposed to be coming back later this week. So hopefully we will have a day planned of when we can start this thing. We already have all the lessons planned out, we just need the go ahead.
All I can say is don't let failure let you get down. Like I said at the beginning we had a ton of finding hours last week, the problem is we didn't find anyone off of it. No one wanted anything for some reason. The things is, what is failure? The fact I didn't get anything? Nahhh. That was the most successful week of my mission. We never gave up, went in early, or anything. We always were working, and doing mission related things. We solved some problems in the branch and stood up for ourselves as true representatives as Christ. I am ready for anything this mission will give me. With God, I have already conquered a lot, why can't I keep going?
