Stay strong in your faith

Anyukám és családom,

Transfers was hectic trying to get back from Budapest. We missed a train back, and we had to wait two hours before catching another. It was kind of annoying, but we got back and did a little more work.

This last week has just been busy, nothing too important. We have been doing a lot of preparation for our Family History class tomorrow. I don't know if I told you, but it starts tomorrow. We invited an old néni here to come help us, she is like Grandma in terms of Family History. She has a big testimony in it, and she will be able to help us out a lot.

This last week has been quite an adjustment. Elder Ábrok is a lot different than Elder Hunnicutt. Yes, he doesn't do finding, but we are always busy. We basically only speak Hungarian at each other. My English is starting to really struggle, but I am learning a lot from him. I am not only learning how to speak better, but I am also learning about Hungarians more, and how to help people and to get people to like me better in Hungarian. Elder Ábrok is really good at that.

I think last Friday was the most eventful. We got fed twice. One of the meals was paprikás krummpli. It was super good. Problem is after being fed twice we went to sport nap, and we could not run very well. Ilyen az élet.

Saturday was Farsang. It was a lot of fun. It is basically the Halloween of Hungary. Yes we dressed up. We had the best costumes out of everyone. Elder Die Wries and I were rock stars. Elder Ábrok was a pig, and Forsythe elder was a giraffe. It was a lot of fun eating food and playing games with all the members. I haven't had too many experiences like that with members. Usually it is old people yelling at me on a porch. Those are not the funnest.

Dan Dávid is doing well. It still looks like he will be baptized. We have ran into a few obstacles, but with God's help, anything is possible.

Remember Viktor? We finally met with him yesterday. He is super Catholic, but he is still willing to meet. We will try again later to see if he will progress. He is still very nice respectful man.

I realized something today. I am forgetting myself and home. I had no idea what to write you when I sat down. No experience is really that special, because it is now just normal life. Experiences like having an old man yelling at me to leave while he claimed to be a prophet, and I was some kind of false prophet who is going to ruin the world, don't really impact me too much anymore. I am a missionary and I am here to do God's work. I don't really remember what people were like on the streets at home, or anything. This is home, and this is where I love, and it is really weird to me.

I will just end with a testimony of the divinity of Christ. That he truly was the son of God who came off his throne of glory to reside with the worldly men, to be smitten and scorn, and to suffer and bleed for all mankind, just to be betrayed by friends and suffer one of the worst tortures. Christ is truly our Savior of our souls, and he has saved us from an eternal death, not just a physical, but a spiritual as well. Now from these vivid, and terrible pictures, comes the most miraculous thing Christ did. Although the normal Christian just focuses on the cross, we look upon the Resurrection. The moment when Christ conquered all, and brought eternal life to all. Christ lives. God lives. Stay strong in your faith, because there are going to be days when that is all you have.

Love you all. Have a wonderful week
sok szeretettel
Decker elder
