As for me, my miracle would be the sun shone all last week. It was fabulous. It has been muggy, grey and wet for months now, and just barely the sun has broken the clouds, and life just feels better.
So we did commit Tomi! he didn't accept, but he is praying about it, and we
are meeting on Wednesday to finalize it. Basically we will have a new date on
Wednesday, it will be awesome! It was such a wonderful program with him. We
taught him really well about the plan of salvation, and how it applies to his
life. We then committed him and he said he wanted to pray about it first before
he commits. That is totally fine with me. I haven't had too many investigators
that willingly read and pray like he does. He's quite a fella.
just a little something about this whole entire experience. This is so cool for me because i have been with this guy since the very beginning. I stopped him on the street, taught him on the street. Called him, taught him up to the point, and I have already since the difference it has brought into his life. He understands God more, has more confidence, and hope for the future. The gospel truly does change you! If you aren't changing, then you aren't living the gospel right. Actually, if you aren't changing to be happier. This gospel is not meant to stress you out, and to make you feel confined. The purpose of the gospel is to help you to be happier. BE HAPPY
We got our first let-in together this last week! It was with an older couple, but they were definitely still all there. You know what is weird to me? It is the fact that two grown-ups, who are in their 65's, were asking me facts about God, about life, and how we progress. I felt like I was teaching Grandpa Liddiard, except for they didn't know much at all. (Our Grandpa knows a lot) I just think it is so cool how much knowledge this Church gives us. We truly do receive revelation from a prophet, and we know a ton more than any other religion. It's spectacular! Anyway, we will be meeting with this couple again, and hopefully we can find out if their children are interested. This could be a way cool opportunity. We will see.
Funny thing. I went on splits with a missionary named De Vreies elder. He is in his 3rd transfer. It was a lot of fun, but we just had a funny moment together. As we were streeting at night the street light randomly went out above me. Jokingly I started running and yelling "Satan is here!" Or something like that. (Don't worry, no one was around) So we ran like this until we got to the next light in which we felt safer. As we were just kind of laughing about we did, the light we just entered went off again. Now we were really spooked, and we ran again for a little bit. I think God was playing some jokes on us that night.
Last thing I would like to write about would have to be a lessen I had with Dávid and his mother. This was also when I was with De Vries elder still, and we were teaching about faith. it really was a really good program, but that isn't what really impacted me. After this nice program the mother started to explain to me how grateful she is for elders like me. She explained how she has had quite a few elders over at her home to teach, and although they spoke good words, and we kind, they only spoke words. They didn't have the spirit with them, and so they really didn't help. She went on to say she is grateful for the few people like me, that I am humble enough to have the spirit, and to help her feel it everytime I come over, and she continued to tell me things I had taught her. I had changed her life in the three months I have been her. I don't know what I did to deserve such a compliment, and what not, but I am so grateful God stays with me and is blessing me with the spirit as he is. I couldn't do this myself, I am not smart, talented, witty, fun, or anything to be qualified as a great missionary. All I can think of is the fact that I just try to work my hardest in whatever situation I am in. I am grateful also that God forgives me a lot, because I do mess up a lot, and sin, but I have always been able to leave the mistakes behind and just learn from them. God is real, his spirit is real, and I challenge all of you to do everything you can this week to feel the spirit. Have a spiritual moment. That means you will need to sacrifice something. God blesses you greater the more you sacrifice. Sacrifice something this week in order to help somebody else, and you will see great blessings in return.
Love you all a lot, have a fun and safe week
