Anyukám és családom,
First of all the most
authentic, or unique food I ate last week was actually an American food. An
American woman (who was not a missionary) married a Hungarian man and now lives
here in Hungary with her three children. For Christmas she invited us all over
for dinner. She made amazing Hungarian food which included gyümölcs leves which
is my favorite, but with the main course she gave us Ham stuffed with Kolbász
and on the side she had swiss chard. I have never had that in my life, and i
was really surprised by it. By all means it actually tasted fine, but it was
definitely one of the weirder things for me.
Our bap date invited us over to set up her tree. The tree was her Christmas miracle. She
decided she really wanted a tree for Christmas, but she had no idea how to get
one because she is low on money. She decided to try the whole praying thing, so
she prayed and immediately afterward one of her friends called to say she had
an extra tree she could give her. So she got a free tree and two strapping men
to help set it up, and we enjoyed some Christmas spirit with her, and taught
her more about the gospel of course. She is progressing really well.
On Sunday I was able to see a wonderful example of member work. The 1st counselor in the Bishopric called us up and asked if we could help bring the Sacrament to one of the members. He is also one of our recent converts, so we went to help out and give a little message. After we met with this man the counselor got the feeling to go meet with a member that was close by who hadn't come to church for over 7 weeks. We dropped by and she happily let us in. During it my comp got wonderful revelation to teach about ordinances. We did, and the whole conversation was filled with the spirit, and we were able to help with this lady's concerns and find ways to serve her. She is now dedicated to trying to get to church.

We are seeing a lot of
miracles, and really enjoying my time. As for me life is weird, one day I am
excited to go home, and the next I am almost crying at the thought of it. I
have grown to love this place with all my heart, but at the same time I am
ready to do my own missionary work at home. It will be hard, but amazing. I
have no worries because God will be there in every part of it, as he is right
now in our lives. I can't wait to work every day I am here.
