Justin came home yesterday, Thursday, May 22. On Wednesday night, we set up flight tracker. Before we went to sleep, we watched his plane leave Budapest. I was up again at 2 a.m. and couldn't sleep. I was so excited! Finally Keith woke up 3 a.m. Together we checked flight tracker, and watched to make sure that his plane left the gate in Paris. If he was on the plane, we knew he was on his way home! It took me hours to go back to sleep.
Thursday morning we checked his flight status and texted back and forth his progress across the Atlantic. In my excitement, I mistakenly identified a Canadian province as North Dakota. I was willing him into the United States. As a family we drove to the Salt Lake airport to pick him up. Trevor and Jill were married on May 10, so Justin was able to meet his new sister-in-law for the first time!
I feel deep and profound gratitude for the good people of Hungary, who also loved our son. He loves the people and will miss their association. He was a good man when he left, and he came back even better. The gospel of Jesus Christ is real. We can know happiness now and feel God's love for us every day. Our Father gave us His son. I am so grateful my son is home.
