Just some random canyon?

Anyám és családom,

Yeah for Matt! What an example he is. I am so happy for him. That'll be an awesome mission.  I can't wait to hear about it. I haven't gotten any letters from him yet, so I'll probably get it later and I'll have to write about it later. Tell him I think he's amazing!

I have not received the package yet. Packages aren't very dependable here. Sometimes they don't show up, or they show up like 6 months later. So we will still have to see about that.

This last week was interesting. We had 15 programs planned, but it ended up being only 6. Finding hasn't been going well, as usual.

Last Thursday was kind of fun though. A seventy came up to give instruction to the entire mission. His name was Elder Richards. He talked mostly about obedience and how it can help with humility and growing faith. It was actually pretty good. He asked a lot of questions and got everyone involved. It was from this that a lot of changes are happening, which I think will be for the good in the long run. There are a ton of new missionaries coming in from the new rules and we are trying to prepare everything for that to happen. We are going to get a lot of new missionaries here, and a lot of people are going to have to train at a pretty young mission age. Especially the Sisters. That is going to be crazy. So many sisters, and they'll be as young as me. There might be problems from that. The weirdest thing will be the 18 year olds that will be coming. God is truly hastening the work. The world is wicked enough. He just needs to gather the rest of the elect.

I had my harshest refusal yet on my mission during tracting the other day. So in most areas in Buda you just have to talk through this intercom thing to the person. So I told hey I have this church and there is a prophet that leads it and I believe it is Christ's original church and I have a book that is proof and I would like to share it with you. Well here response was, már hitem van, egyházom van, könyvem van, viszontlátásra. Then she hung up. (I already have my faith, my church, my book. Goodbye.) It was pretty awesome. Honestly every time I get refused my testimony grows, because the spirit testifies to me that what I said was true and that it is sad that person chose not to accept it, but what I really know and hold is the truth and the way to real happiness.

I had another experience while tabling. So we do English class to also try to find investigators. In every class we probably get about 20 people. We always end and start with a prayer, and we also end with a spiritual thought. We actually usually find people from this and it is useful. So while tabling we basically we advertise both our church and this English class. Well I saw this lady just hovering around so I went up to talk to here. Basically she told me she didn't agree how we were buying faith through English class, that we were basically tricking people into believing. I though about it and I agreed with her, but I also explained that we truly respect peoples agency, that we really are just here to help and give the opportunity to everyone to learn for themselves if this is the truth. English class is just one way in how we introduce this to people, because most of the time people don't even stop to listen. Well, in this opportunity people have the opportunity to listen and choose whether or not to meet with us. I went on to bear my testimony about the church and the gospel. I then gave here a BOM and some more information about our church. We both left each other feeling better about each other and uplifted from the spirit. I love moments like that when I can bear a solid witness of my faith in Christ and in this church. I can't explain how God does it, but he truly builds your faith out here. If there is one thing that this mission will do for me, is it is cementing my foundation of my faith in Christ and in this church, in which I will never deny it for the rest of my life.

His packages must be coming by  bus.
Another cool experience yesterday. Elder Burch lost his wallet. He couldn't find it anywhere. I even helped look for him. It was nowhere. So we even checked a grocery store we had been at, and other places we had went by. It was gone, nincs. So we kept going throughout the day, and around 7 at night we get a call from the Bishop that a person had found his wallet and brought it to the mission home. So we booked it down there, and for a miracle, some random lady had found it and brought it back. (let alone she didn't take anything and she was super honest and everything. Most people would have taken the money and anything else in there, like passport stuff. She was one amazing women) Anyway, she is not a member, and how she found the place is she saw Elder Burch's MTC card in his wallet and she looked up the church and found the mission home from there, and then she went there and found the Bishop and the Bishop called us. The coolest part about this is she may now become an investigator. As she was looking up the church she read about it and she became somewhat interested. Plus she has seen us around the city a lot and she has always been impressed by us. So we gave her a run down about the church, gave her our number, and a Liahona. We also talked to her daughter who found the wallet, so basically her whole family is involved. Basically God performed a little miracle through losing Burch elder's wallet. Moral of the story, lose your wallet and you may get an investigator.

Yep, there just aren't words for that.
Last thing, but super embarrassing, I also put a picture of it on the website. I am almost bald. As I was giving myself a haircut I realized I missed a spot with the hair shaver. So putting it on the correct setting I went to correct it. Along the way, or when I put it on my head the setting somehow went real short. This was a kind of clipper where you adjust it right on it. So I had a real short spot on the right side of my head. Just some random canyon. So the only option was to make the rest of my head that short. So embarrassing. I can't wait to see what my mission president will say, and every other missionary. Basically I have been wearing a beanie since then, and I probably will until it gets longer again. It's terrible. I have never had this short. The plus side is it feels really good, and it is really comfortable, and it feels great to rub my head with my hand. This is going to be a really interesting week.
