Családom és Anyukám,
I had a pretty interesting week last week.
First thing was an interesting thing Elder Flake and I ran
into a lot. As we were tracting a lot of older ladies came out, and we talked,
and after a time they began to cry. I made three old ladies cry last week. I
did this because I got them to say a little about their life, and they all
talked about how their husbands had died. Death = teach the Plan of Salvation.
So I taught them a little about the Plan of Salvation and I promised them they would
see their loved ones again. It is just interesting because I haven't had to
deal with a lot of death in my life. I haven't experienced those pains, but I
have seen the effects of these things, and it has been quite an adventure on
trying to give comfort and hope to this people. I have actually loved it
because you get to bear your testimony of Christ, and of things like eternal
families.
This last week we also went on a fad of eating soup. We made
the best soup I have ever eaten. We were looking at our fridge and cabinets one
night, and we realized we really had not much food left. So we decided to grab
everything, and throw it into boiling water with seasonings in it. It was
sooooo good. Isteni finom
There is a member in this Ward who is super cool, and she
lives on a farm. Sad thing is her husband is not a member, so she is trying to
get us to meet with him. So this last Saturday we went to their house. Turns
out they live on a farm. We got to meet all their animals, eat a wonderful
dinner, and teach a lesson. The coolest part was when they decided to cut off a
goose's head. They were going to kill one to eat, so I watched as they held one
down, slit it's throat, let all the blood drain out, then they let it die, and
then they put it into a big pot of boiling water to get the skin soft so they
could feather it. Then one of the girls cut off the entire head and showed us
all the parts in it. It was quite a thing to watch. I have never seen that
before. Good thing from it. It turns out I don't get squirmy at all at the
sight of blood.
We had a tiny miracle to an answer to prayers. We were out
in a falu tracting, and after talking to a really cool lady for a few minutes,
we looked at the sky to see a huge cloud coming. We didn't ever hear if was
going to rain, so we weren't prepared at all for it. So we sat down and said a
little prayer just to see if we should stay to tract, or we should try to get
home to stay out of the rain. So we said a pray and we both felt we should go.
Just as the bus came so that we could get on, the heavens opened, and the wind
blew. It was a waterfall from heaven. After getting off the bus to head home,
we were soaked after 15 seconds. The point of the story is God does answer
prayers, even the tiniest of things. He got us out of the rain where we would
have suffered. Luckily it was only one of those 30 minute rain storm, so after
we were dry we were able to go out again and do some streeting.
Last little thing, we have an interesting new investigator.
He is 19, shy, but really cool. We met for the first time last week. Why is he
intersting? He is showing a lot of committment already to meet. He lives out in
a falu that is around a 25 minute bus ride to the Branch house where we met. He
rode his bike to there. I couldn't believe it. So we taught him about the
Restoration, and he said he'll read and pray.
I am having a wonderful time, no worries about me! Have a
wonderful week!
