We are the best missionaries ever

March 24, 2014

Családom és Anyukám,

Saying goodbye to Elder Squire was pretty hard. I miss that guy a lot already, but I am already starting to love Elder Thomas. He has a lot of willingness to work and that is all that is needed in a missionary. We got a ton done together and we saw miracles. Investigators are coming to us. We had someone from English class ask if we could meet, we got a referral from a member, and we had some random guy on the street ask if our church could help him get over alcohol in which he has had problems with for 4 years. Of course we said yes. Supposedly he will come to church.

We are still teaching our investigator. She is amazing, but she is 13. Mom, I believe you can relate trying to teach a 13 year old. We have been trying hard to make our programs interesting, so we taught the commandments through the "color of life". We got 6 colors and told her she had to put it in order. Beforehand we decided the correct order. Of course this was impossible, so we began to give her commandments (instructions). After getting all the commandments and putting the colors in correct order, we talked about how commandments help us to know what is most important in life, and what needs to be done so that everything can be happy and in order. Our other lesson was about The word of wisdom. We taught it using "Simon says". We played "Simon says" for a little bit and then after a bit we made here wear headphones with music. She played terribly because she couldn't hear the instructions. When we don't follow the Word of Wisdom, we can't hear the instructions from the Spirit too well. I think she got the point. (Don't worry she already follows it).

Our investigator and her sister had birthdays this weekend. She had a little party where she invited us. We gave her a bracelet and chocolate. (Girls love both) To her sister, we gave a cool present. We found a cube that stands on it's corner and every side is a picture frame. We had a lot of people from the branch write a little kind thing about her then we framed all 6 six sides all cutely. It looked great, and she almost cried from it. (We are the best missionaries ever) All of it was cheap as well! (Best part)

Like I said before we got a referral. It was kind of interesting how it worked. One of the Young men here brought a friend to Sport nap where we had a lot of fun. Afterward we were supposed to meet with another kid, but then everyone joined us and our referral was there. Beforehand we just planned on reading from the BOM, but then we had to improvise because we wanted it to be more interesting for him. We taught about eternal life, what it is, and how we can get it. We bore a lot of testimony about the BOM, and we got all the young guys to bear their own testimonies about it. He was pretty interested afterward.

Love you all!!!
