Ready for my life?

April 29, 2013

Anykukám és családom,

Ok, here is rule now for the entire family. If anyone asks you if you are Justin's whatever. Get a name. It may be potential for after the mission  :)

Ready for my life?

We will being with a man named Jakab _____. He is an old man that was given to us from the Sisters in Buda that were meeting with him. He moved down here to veszprém for the summer, so we are now meeting with him. Turns out he has been meeting with missionaries for a long time.

Well, we found out why. He had all the dumb, the catholic church is the same as the mormons, catholics also have the authority, Joseph couldn't be a prophet at 14, and more. Well, we were a little sick of these things, so we destroyed them, in a Christlike way. Once we took all of these excuses away we found out this guy's real problem. he was scared. He is scared of changing, and being something else. All of these excuses really weren't the problem. He was just scared of change.

How often do we do this in our lives? We avoid change, and decided not to do the better because it seems so daunting. So instead of doing it we find every reason why we can't do it, every reason why it is not important? I do this, i think everyone does. It is important that we look at our lives, and anything that we are not doing because we make a ton of excuses not to do it, we need to reaccess and really decide what is the best choice, just like this wonderful, kind old man.

We also met with the black Nigerian again. He is so cool. He already knows a ton because of his religion, but he is learning a ton from us as well. Things he already knew are things like praying. He already prays right and everything! He is so much fun to teach. I teach with so much feeling when it is in English.

This last week was another of those straight out working weeks were we didn't have too much that happened that would be super interesting to all of you, but I found a few things.

1- I talked to quite a few cute girls last week, and I got a couple of numbers. (missionary style)

2- We had two quotes that we now say a lot.

-"Us Hungarians, we work like pigs!" What does is mean to you to work like a pig?

-"Love the thing you have to do. Don't do the thing you would like to do."

I actually think there is wisdom in this.

3- I played that Pour Wayfaring man of grief arrangement in sacrament meeting. Everyone loved it. I got a ton of compliments. It was a lot of fun to do.

That is all I have for the week, but I love you all, and I know this is God's work I am doing. We are in Christ's church!
