Anyukám és családom,
My companion is super cool. He is also from Utah, go figure.
He went to BYU for a year as well. He is super stoked to work, and willing to
do anything. I really like those traits so we are going to get along just fine.
He was 18, until he turned 19 last Friday. I gave him a good birthday. We had a
Néni feed him, so it was a good B-day.
Training is definitely a different experience. Here it is a
lot harder because of the language. You basically can't communicate well in Hungarian
until you have been here about 6 months. Some get it a little quicker, some a
little later. I knew missionaries that still couldn't speak well at all after 2
years. So a trainer is more of a language teacher in my opinion. Yeah there are
the other aspects, but those come with time, as you get used to teaching, and
you find the way you teach.
Other one was quite easy as well. Guy sees us sweating our
brains out, so he lets us in, and then gives us water, and decides that is not
enough, so he gave us food, and then shampoo. So we gave him a BOM, and a committment to read. We are sooo good :)
The third happened today as well. Elder Spedding (that is
his name) plays the guitar super well. So we got permission from President to
buy him one. So we went shopping today. As he was choosing out his guitar, the
guy starts asking questions about who we are. That is a bad question to ask
missionaries, because they will begin teaching you exactly who we are. So I did
a little bit, and I gave him a Plan of Salvation pamphlet. We are going to back
"to buy a tuner". And to see if he would like to meet. :)
Gyöngyi is doing really well. Work was really hard on her,
but she is still progressing towards baptism. We gave her a bap calender so
that she could have a really good goal. We are excited for her. She is a
wonderful lady.
