Mother and family,
I am happy to hear you are all finding the world so beautiful right now. I have seen the sky, the mountains, and the temple all at once, and it is amazingly beautiful. I will miss these mountains when I am in Hungary.
I really liked your thought mom. It is so true that the only true happiness comes from keeping the commandments of God, and in truth they make life easier. I have found this in my many studies here. I am going to Hungary to give the Hungarians an easier life, not a restrictive one. Why would God ever give us anything to restrict us when his goal is to have us be perfect like him. That is not restrictive to me. Also mom I have definitely felt your prayers. I am progressing like I thought I never would, and it is not because I am special in any way, but because I have been so humbled to find out I can never be a good missionary. I will never convert anybody, or convince anybody of anything, because it is the spirit that converts, not me. I rely completely on the lord in all I do, because only through him will I accomplish anything.
So consecration week started today. Here is what I am giving up, 1-English 2- candy 3- exercise outside of class 4- selfish thoughts 5- bad attitudes 6- time morning and night to study.
It'll be a wonderful week full of miracles, and I am excited to experience it. I will tell you how it goes next week. Oh I also contemplated on writing to you in only Hungarian, but to avoid all frustrations, I chose not to :)
For my week a few things happened. Daybell testver, one of my teachers, left last Friday so we got a new one this week. His name is lefevre Testver. Yes, he is Lefevre Nover's husband. He is wonderful so far.
Then Sunday I got admittance into Relief Society. We got chosen to play "The Olive Tree" during that time. So I went and played piano in front of a lot of crying women. It was a lot of fun, and we sounded great.
Last significant things is I hyper extended my finger and I sprained my ankle this week during volleyball. Satan is really trying to put me down, but it is not working. I am telling you this because both experiences were actually very spiritual to me. After I sprained my ankle I walked away to avoid attention, and as I walked I prayed i contemplated what happened (I knew it was sprained because it had popped). Never freaking out, I said an earnest prayer and asked God to not let this inhibit my time to go to Hungary. After doing so the spirit flowed through me and I the pain in my ankle went away, and I knew I would be ok. It did swell, but I played for 10 more minutes, and then went and got iced and wrapped. I did walk away, and I am still walking, and the swelling is almost gone now. I know God healed me in that the moment, and made it not as bad as it should have been. I know God is there and answers every prayer. . .
It turns out this week that they enabled picture sending, so I will send some pictures with this email
