Mother and
family,
BRENNNA!!! HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!!!! Make sure you show her
the video ON HER BIRTHDAY. No earlier. Sorry I can't be there for you, but I
know you will be a wonderful Miamaid. I also sent a letter to Grandma for her
Birthday. I hope she gets it. . .
[Justin videotaped his district singing his sister Brenna "Happy Birthday" in Hungarian. We kept it secret and played the video on her birthday. Good thing he told us the song was "Happy Birthday!" We wouldn't have recognized it.]
You know what I would say? Finally you got a new lawn mower! That thing was going to die any day. Unfortunately is cost money to get a new one though.
Now for my life...
I forgot to tell you about this last week. I finally had an answer to my prayers. I have been struggling really bad to have the spirit in my Hungarian lessons. I just don't know how to really mean what I say in Hungarian. Well in my lesson about the Atonement to one of my investigators named Áron, I bore my testimony about Jesus Christ to him. This time it was different. The words came easily and I bore a strong testimony about how Jesus Christ truly paid the penalty for our sins, and the spirit was there. I finally felt the spirit through Hungarian. Even though it turned out to now be the best lesson, I had born a testimony, with the spirit, in Hungarian. I thank God every day for that.
The next awesome spiritual thing to happen was last Monday. ______ testvér had us do an activity to help us teach for the needs of the person rather than just teaching the lesson. We learned how to ask questions to find concerns and the true feelings of the person. I was paired up with _______ Nővér. Praying earnestly for the spirit and trying my hardest to feel for her, I started to ask her questions. To make it short, I did it. She had used a real concern of hers, and I found it, bore testimony of how to help her, and promised her blessings. We were both in tears after it. The best thing was I found how the spirit talks to me in my own personal way. . .
Last Saturday I was offered the privilege of giving ________
Nővér a blessing. She has been sick for a week and just not feeling good. It is
always wonderful to be able to exercise the priesthood for others. The
wonderful thing is she has improved a lot since that blessing, whereas she was
steadily getting worse before. The priest hood is real.
One more little thing that happened yesterday. Turns out people listen to you more than you realize. Because I am Zone Leader, I try to get to know the new missionaries and help them feel comfortable here at the MTC. Yesterday one of these Elders was struggling on making goals and feeling the spirit and asked me to help him. Using my experience from above, and other things I know, I helped him. I thought it had gone well because the spirit was in the conversation and I helped him with his questions and gave him scriptures to read. Turns out I said something to him like, "There are no good missionaries". I meant it in the sense that we do help facilitate the spirit in the teaching process, but it is the spirit that does the conversion, not the missionary. Turns out he shared this with his district and they all had a big discussion about it. This was actually a good experience for me, because it showed that when I help someone with the spirit, I can truly help people, to learn more and become better people.
Now for fun things. D'Angina elder got a bloody nose on the toilet. You can imagine how that was a little difficult for all of us. yesterday I did over 400 push-ups for fun. People still think I am "Elder Elder" because they don't understand that my nametag is just backward. Someone actually thought my nametag was just messed up. And finally... The new Kicsi are here! I am now officially an Osi. They were cool. There are only 2 new Hungarian Elder's, so there are not very many Hungarians here right now.
