Not even better than a six year old.

August 1, 2012

Mom and family,

. . .I learned a cool thing about Hungarian this last week. The word "mag" means "seed" and "self". I like to compare this to the gospel how you only need a "seed" of faith to affect your"self". My Hungarian is going leaps and bounds this last week. I now all the tenses, present, future, past, imperative, and conditional. I can do a lot of speaking in Hungarian, but I am still not very good. As I say in Brenna's letter. I am not even better than a Hungarian six year old girl.

[He listened to a recording of a six year old little girl talking to her mother. Justin's instructor told them the little girl was describing how she liked a little boy. Justin couldn't undertand a thing the little girl said. So, he says he speaks Hungarian worse than a six year old. I hope so. She's lived there longer.]

This last week I was able to do Zone Leader duties, which were awesome because I got to serve quite a few people. . . The Osi left this last Monday. It is weird being the oldest group in the Zone and now being the Osi. We won't be officaially Osi until next Wednesday though, that is when the next group of Hungarians come. So upon the Osi leaving we got a ton of inheritance items. I got a dumbell, Miller elder got a cusion and tie, D'Angina elder got a cushion. . . So the Osi are gone, I teach many lessons a day, and I got to go to the temple for the first time today! It was so filling spiritually and Physically. The cafeteria food tastes so good there after eating at the MTC for five weeks straight. . .

I actually did hear from Elder Madsen about Brian Cook last Friday. I did know him well, so I was sad, but I know the gospel is true so there is no sorrow. It is weird to think about though. I am sorry you have to say bye to a friend mom. I know how it is, I have said goodbye to a lot even while being here.

Thank you for the shirts, and they do fit. My companions are grateful, and so am I. I don't really know why we have to match, but my guess is it has to do with building unity. You have to work at being unified a lot with your companion, which can be hard sometimes.

I have one last thing to say before I end. There is only one thing I regret and it is that I did not express my testimony enough to my siblings. I feel like I could have helped you guys a lot more as an older brother and helped you more with knowing the gospel. I think as a family we maybe could have done better. Just know if you build yourself upon the words of Christ, He will uplift you and help you in life. I know Christ is there for you, and God hears you when you pray. I truly know it is all true
